Colleagues came together yesterday for a coffee, cake and fundraising day in support of Marie Curie, raising an impressive £750 for the charity.
The event featured a range of activities, including a raffle, guessing games, football scratch cards, a dress-down day, and plenty of tea, coffee and cake, with colleagues from across the business getting involved and showing their support.
The fundraising day forms part of our wider efforts to support Phil, Michael, Jason and Liam as they prepare to take on a challenging 56-mile charity walk over two days in memory of their fathers. The team is raising money for Marie Curie, helping the charity continue to provide vital care and support to people living with terminal illness and their families.
The challenge begins this Thursday, with the team setting off from Killhope to take on the 56-mile route over two days. They will be joined by colleagues for the final stretch into Durham City before crossing the finish line at the iconic Durham Cathedral.
Thanks to the generosity of colleagues, friends and supporters, the £750 raised during the event has been added to the £4,950 already donated online, bringing the overall fundraising total to an incredible £5,700.
Michael Pallister, Operations Director, said: “A huge thank you to everyone who took part, donated, shared the campaign or offered words of encouragement. Your support is making a real difference and helping us raise valuable funds for a fantastic cause.”
We will be sharing updates throughout the week as the team progresses along the route.
There is still time to donate and support the challenge. Visit the JustGiving page to help us raise even more for Marie Curie: www.justgiving.com/page/phs-charity-walk
